The Supreme Court, in its full court meeting held on October 16, decided to confer senior designations on 47 former judges of the High Courts. Nine among them are former Chief Justices of the High Courts.
They are :
1. Ms. Sonia Gokani, former Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court.
2. Mr. Ali Mohammad Magrey, former Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
3. Mr. Satish Kumar Mittal (Satish Kumar), former Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.
4. Mr. Ramesh Deokinandan Dhanuka, former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
5. Mr. Mohammad Rafiq, former Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
6. Mrs. Sabina, former Acting Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
7. Mr. Badar Durrez Ahmed, former Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
8. Mr. Mahesh Mittal Kumar, former Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
9. Dr. S. Muralidhar, former Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
10. Mr. Vangala Eswaraiah (V. Eswaraiah), former Acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
11. Mr. C. Praveen Kumar, former Acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
12. Mr. Umesh Chandra Maheshwari, former judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
13. Mr. Reddi Kantha Rao, former judge of the Telangana HC.
