Chief Justice of India, Justice BR Gavai, has requested that the issue regarding protocol violation during his visit to the State of Maharashtra be given a quietus, as all concerned have already expressed regrets.
CJI Gavai urged that the trivial issue not be blown out of proportion. The press note issued today states :
"News items are being published in the media regarding protocol issues during the visit of Hon'ble the Chief Justice of India to Maharashtra. All concerned have already expressed regrets. Hon'ble the Chief Justice of India has expressed that a trivial issue should not be blown out of proportion. CJI has requested everyone that the matter be given a quietus."
While attending a function in Maharashtra, the CJI recently said that the Maharashtra Chief Secretary, DGP or Mumbai Police Commissioner didn't meet him on his first visit to his home state as the CJI.
Notably, yesterday, the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankar voiced support for Chief Justice of India, BR Gavai, after the latter expressed displeasure over the protocol lapse by the Maharashtra Government officials during his state visit.
